Stumble and Pain Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
All your gifts come out of hell
You brought them back for luck/love?
Throw a bucket down into your well
You fill it with your bloodAnd you let it go
With the greatest ease
'cause something always stays the same
And always seemsahh ooh ohh ahhhh ahhhhWith the (meaning?) you never fill / With the mean you never fail ?
Try to leave before it comes
Like a man whose paid to kill
Asking you what should be doneAnd you let it go

With the greatest ease
'cause something always stays the same
And always seemsahh ooh ohh ahhhh ahhhhSun down on shady grin
Shaking hands on a sinking ship
(Process here on a poison friend?)
Telling you you'll never quit

Joseph Arthur is a contemporary singer-songwriter from Akron, Ohio, known for his melodic compositions combined with swirling choruses. He was discovered by Peter Gabriel in the mid-'90s, and signed to Gabriel's Real World label. Arthur's first album, Big City Secrets, was critically acclaimed.

Arthur's song "In The Sun" was recently covered by Michael Stipe (of R.E.M.) and Coldplay singer Chris Martin that was released for a Hurricane Katrina Relief program. The EP includes 6 versions of the cover, one of which has Arthur himself singing with Stipe.
