Sucked the Life Lyrics

I had a lover a hundred times over
But she was not a blessing
I am a dreamer and Im a believer
That is why she had the best of meI was enamored
And love was a chance
For me to try and get to know that girlWith no question,
Then theres no answer
A pardon for what I have learnedShe sucked the life right out of my skin
And every time I see her she does it again
I cant get her out, cause I didnt let her in
Beware of the woman that dances in the midnight windThe moral in the fable
Was searching that enabled
Her to make up her stubborn mindThe questions that I asked her
Regarding changes of the past
I said why would you waste my time?I said please dont walk away into the night
I could not take it if you disappeared from my sight
I said please stay by my side
And whispered to the heavens to hear my criesIf I let you go

If I let you go
Will you come home to me?
Will you come back home? She sucked the life right out of my skin
And every time I see her she does it again
I cant get her out, cause I didnt let her in
Beware of the woman that dances in the midnight windShe sucked the life right out of my skin
And every time I see her she does it again
I cant get her out, cause I didnt let her in
Beware of the woman that dances in the midnight wind

Among Savages is 24 year old Nashville, TN based artist Peter Barbee. His debut record “Wanderings of an Illustrative Mind” is a personal narrative about the triumphs and trials of youth. A composer from an early age, Barbee’s songs are filled with hushed moments that burst into bold grandiose, as understated as they are hooky. Raised as the fifth of six children in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains, he moved to Nashville at the age of 17 and immersed himself in its music community.
