Sun and Steel Lyrics

I get up when I feel too weak
And the words I try to speak
A desire to be in the peak of the feelI move on and the cards they fall
My hand had its last call
Don't you know that I'm bettin' at all on the wheelThe battle cry, the wind has blown
The cause is need to throw back the stones
And I'm fallin'
Yes, I'm fallin'
To the sun and the steelI get up out of more than need
By the sword I live and breathe
Don't you know that I'm plantin' my seeds on the runI move on and the charge is called
Ten to one as I hit the wall
Honors won when my flag stands tall in the sun.The battle cry, the wind has blown
The cause is need to throw back the stones
And I'm fallin'
Yes, I'm fallin'
To the sun and the steel

Iron Butterfly is an American psychedelic rock band, well known for their 1968 hit "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida". They are considered a very-early heavy metal band as a result of this song and others like it as well as the title of their debut album, 'Heavy'. Their heyday was the late-60s, but the band has been reincarnated several times with various members. Also known for being the first RIAA certified platinum group, VH1 ranks them as number 19 on their list of top 100 "one hit wonders".
