Sundown in Nashville Lyrics

The sign says "Welcome to Nashville"
From whatever road you've been down
It seems like the first of the milestones
For here is the city, the townIt's a quaint, old mystical city
Where legends and idols have stood
It's a place, where dreams come to harbor
A country boy's HollywoodBut it's lonely at sundown in Nashville
That's when beaten souls start to weep
Each evening at sundown in Nashville
They sweep broken dreams off the streetYou'll walk, down 16th to Broadway
Into a world of heartache and pain
Where hillbilly honky tonk angels
Cry out, from the dark side of fameYou'll find, some discarded love songs
And tear stains all over the ground
In a city where dreams get shattered
And swept to the outskirts of townBut it's lonely at sundown in Nashville
That's when beaten souls start to weep
Each evening at sundown in Nashville

They sweep, broken dreams off the street
They sweep, broken dreams off the street

Marty Stuart (born John Marty Stuart September 30, 1958 in Philadelphia, Mississippi) is an American Country Music Singer, known for both his traditional style, and eclectic merging of rockabilly, honky tonk, and traditional country music. In the early-1990s, he had a successful string of Country hits. Once infamous for his flamboyantly hedonist party image, he is now a born again Christian and records both Country and Gospel music. He is known for wearing rhinestone-studded "Nudie suits" onstage, but after the passing of his friend Johnny Cash he now wears black in his honor.
