Surfacing Lyrics

It's building in me, I feel it surfacing
Am I becoming my impurities?
You turned to see and look at me
I'm turning into what you seeI'm changing inside, I'm changing inside
I wish I could take this away from me
I'm changing inside, I'm changing inside
The broken is finally surfacingI can feel it slowly changing me
I'm just a shell of who I used to be
You turned to see and look at me
I'm turning into what you seeI'm changing inside, I'm changing inside
I wish I could take this away from me
I'm changing inside, I'm changing inside
The broken is finally surfacingFinally surfacing, surfacing
Lay me down forever, finally surfacing
Lay me down forever, finally surfacingI'm changing inside, I'm changing inside
The broken is finally surfacing
I'm changing inside, I'm changing inside
The broken is finally surfacing

Candice Alley stormed onto the Australian music scene with her debut single “Falling.” As one of the hits of 2003, “Falling” claimed a Top 5 spot in the charts and Candice became the Number 1 Australian Artist to feature on the National Airplay, charting for 32 weeks. Not bad for a song that took her 20 minutes to write! On the back of the success of “Falling” and her debut album “Colorblind” Candice supported Enrique Iglesias’ Australian Tour. She also opened at the 2003 ARIAs on the same night she was nominated for Best New Artist Single.

Candice consolidated on the success of her debut album – this time as an independent artist. Candice's second album was produced by Michael Szumowski. The first single from this album, “Before You Go” received radio airplay and spent 11 weeks in the Australian Singles Chart, peaking at number 16. The second single was "I Belong” which marked an up-tempo change of pace for Candice, with a chugging guitar line which compliments her immediately identifying vocals. When asked what “I Belong” is about Candice replies, "it is about moving on and being optimistic, about letting go of old things. It’s a positive song.”

Through Candice's success on her second album a US label approached her to do a remix of the 2003 hit single 'Falling' which climbed the USA Billboard Dance Charts and was a top 40 single, January 2009.

Playing acoustically or with her band, Candice is a natural live performer. Candice plays the piano and guitar. With mature, emotional lyrics, catchy melodies and a unique voice, Candice Alley is an instantly recognisable talent.
