Surprise! Lyrics

A broom a heart a plan.
A feeling things will never be okay.
If they were,
It still felt like they had all been done before.
I have the time if I had a hunger for your taste and then your touch.
But I know you never cared that much.
That I would fall in love with you
And when you lust the day was through
I want to hold and kiss your hand.
Would you just humor me instead?
And well I guess it’s no surprise that you’ve been telling me lies, telling me lies.
Well yeah I guess it’s no surprise that you’ve been telling me lies.
A day a month a year.
A feeling that we’d never make it here.
But we did.
And if we make it to the end then we can start it again.

We’re gonna try, oh hi.
Don’t mind if we are fallen out of touch.
Cause I, I never cared that much.
(Ooooooooooh)
That I would fall in love with you
And when you lust the day was through
I want to hold and kiss your hand.
Would you just humor me instead?
And well I guess it’s no surprise that you’ve been telling me lies, telling me lies.
Well yeah I guess it’s no surprise that you’ve been telling me lies (riffing on the word lies.)
And well I guess it’s no surprise that you’ve been telling me lies, telling me lies.
Well yeah I guess it’s no surprise that you’ve been telling me lies.

Now it can be told! The story of toenut. Way back in the summer of 1991, Skipper Hartley was holed up in a laboratory in Italy, trying to make computers behave like humans. Back home in Atlanta, his own little Hal 9000 was starting to sputter to life. Earlier that year, Hartley and fellow guitarist (and toenut clotheshorse) Richie Edelson planted the seeds of the 'Nut in the moist confines of a rehearsal cubicle.
