Suspicious Minds Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
We're caught in a trap and I can't walk out
Because I love you too much baby
Why can't you see what you're doing to me
When you don't believe a word I say?We can't go on together
With suspicious minds
And we can't build our dreams
On suspicious mindsShould an old friend I know stop and say, "Hello"
Would I still see suspicion in your eyes?
There you go again asking where I've been
You can't see these tears I cryWe can't go on together

With suspicious minds
And we can't build our dreams
On suspicious mindsOh, let our love survive
I'll dry the tears you're crying
Don't let this good thing die
You know I've never lied to you
No, no, noWe're caught in a trap and I can't walk out
Because I love you too much baby
Why can't you see what you're doing to me
When you don't believe a word I say?We can't go on together
With suspicious minds
And we can't build our dreams
On suspicious mindsWe're caught in a trap and I can't walk out
Because I love you too much baby
Why can't you see what you're doing to me
When you don't believe a word I say?I'm caught in a trap and I can't walk out
Why? Because I love you too much baby
Why can't you see what you're doing to me
When you don't believe a word I say?

Fine Young Cannibals were an English band best known for their 1989 hits "She Drives Me Crazy" and "Good Thing". According to the Good Thing Songfacts Fine Young Cannibals rose from the ashes of the UK band The Beat . When the band broke up in 1983, bassist David Steele and guitarist Andy Cox went on to form FYC with a new vocalist, actor/model Roland Gift whom they carefully chose after eight months of listening to cassettes. Their name came from the 1960 film All The Fine Young Cannibals starring Robert Wagner and Natalie Wood.
