Swan Song Lyrics

Well, the telephone rang but I missed the call
('Cause I was too busy out trying to break the law)
Only nineteen but I knew it all
Two bad tattoos and an attitude problem
I seen the sun go down on the west side
I've taken one or two hearts for dessert
It ain't what I need, it's about what I want
And I don't wanna take it no more
This could be the end
I'm not holdin' on
I can't go on any longer
So listen close, my friends
I may be who you loved
Please just think I mean it when I'm gone
Yeah, this is the swan song
When the curtain falls at the quarter hall
I'll be writing my number on the bathroom wall
(For a good time, call me anytime you want)

But I may not listen 'cause I heard it all
I seen the sun go down on the west side
I'll write a song, you can sing it the next time
It ain't what I need, it's about what I want
And I don't wanna take it no more
This could be the end
I'm not holdin' on
I can't go on any longer
So listen close, my friends
I may be who you loved
Please just think I mean it when I'm gone
This is a swan song
He wants you to sing it, do you wanna rhyme?
This is a swan song
I feel I can write it down, I got the time
This is a swan song
I know I said I'll write it but that was last night
And I don't wanna take it no more
'Cause this could be the end
I'm not holdin' on
I can't go on any longer
So listen close, my friends
I may be who you know
Please just think I mean it when I'm gone
Yeah
I'm not holdin' on
I'm not holdin' on
I can't go on
So listen close, my friends
I may be who you know
Please just think I mean it when I'm gone
Yeah, this is a swan song
This is a swan song

Bury Your Dead (sometimes abbreviated to BYD) is a five-piece metallic hardcore band that hails from Worcester, Massachusetts, United States. Formed in 2001, Bury Your Dead began as a side project of the band Hamartia featuring Brendan "Slim" MacDonald (guitar) and Mark Castillo (Drums). With the metalcore sound of Hamartia growing tiresome to both Slim and Mark, they started writing less technical songs in their free time.
