Sweet Home Chicago Lyrics

Oh, come on, baby don't you wanna go?
Oh, come on, baby don't you wanna go?
Back to the same old place, to my sweet home ChicagoOne and one is two, two and two is four
Love me baby now, love me slowCome on, baby don't you wanna go?
Back to the same old place, to my sweet home ChicagoTwo and two is four, four and four is eight
Love me baby now, don't be lateCome on, baby don't you wanna go?
Back to the same old place, to my sweet home Chicago
Oh, take me thereLove me baby, love me right
Early in the morning, now, late at nightCome on, baby don't you wanna go?
Back to the same old place, to my sweet home ChicagoI believe, I believe my time ain't long
I believe, I believe my time ain't long
I've got to leave my baby and break up my happy home

In the late 1960s, Roger Earl and Lonesome Dave Peverett first toured America as members of the seminal British band Savoy Brown . Together with guitarist Kim Simmonds, Savoy Brown was on the cutting edge of the emerging British blues-rock scene, and they influenced countless musicians on both sides of the Atlantic. In 1971, wanting to give a more rock 'n roll flavour to the blues-boogie music they were playing with Savoy, Dave and Roger enlisted lead/slide guitarist Rod Price and bassist Tony Stevens, formed a new band, Foghat.
