Sweetest of All Lyrics

(Shel Silverstein)Out of all the nights I remember
Of all of the loves I recall
There are many who live in my memory
But you were the sweetest of allWasn't it sweetest of all babe
Wasn't it sweetest of all
I wasn't your first love, I wasn't your last
But wasn't it sweetest of allSometimes I still think about you
Sometimes I wish that you'd call
And sometimes I feel like your lying here with me
And it's still the sweetest of allSo keep your goodbyes in your pocket
You ain't going nowhere at all
Your memory is staying here with me
'Cause you were the sweetest of allWasn't it sweetest of all babe
Wasn't it sweetest of all
Of all of the lovers you let lie beside you
Wasn't we sweetest of allWasn't it sweetest of all babe
Wasn't it sweetest of all
Of all of the lovers you let lie beside you

Wasn't we sweetest of all(c)1978 Tro-Essex Music Ltd.

Dr. Hook (& The Medicine Show) were formed in Union City, New Jersey, USA in 1968. The original lineup consisted of Ray Sawyer, Dennis Locorierre, Bill Francis, John David and George Cummings - although there were countless lineup changes over the years.

Two years after Sawyer left in 1983 the band split up. Since then Sawyer has begun touring as "Dr Hook featuring Ray Sawyer" and Locorierre has also promoted himself as "The voice of Dr Hook".

Trivia: In a live webcast performance from Atlanta Bon Jovi performed "Sylvia's Mother" by Dr Hook - declaring the song "One we should have written".
