Take Care of Yourself Lyrics

Are you ready?
(Yeah, yeah)
Are you ready to rock?
(Yeah, yeah)
Do you wanna do it?
(Yeah, yeah)
Get down on it
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)Marching clock now he don't stop
Seen it quite a lot and he says
"Take care of yourself"
Old man sighs, shuts his eyes
And leaves behind another life
Take care of yourselfMillstones swing, grind your thing
Pay the tax and alimony
Take care of yourself
Raise that boy, he'll go far
'Cos he had no real good teacher
Take care of yourselfYou got

Huh huh
You got
Take care of yourselfTruth don't go, don't go far
Sell a lie to any paper
Take care of yourself
Sleep too deep, zombie sleep
All alone it has to be
Take care of yourself, oh yeahPeace of mind is hard to find
But he don't mind like you don't mind y'all
Big T don't care and we don't mind
I said she don't care and you don't matter
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
You got
Take care of yourselfOne nine nine oh here we go
May the next ten break the mold
Take care of yourself
Mister Good gone away
Looking out for number one says
Take care of yourselfDid she say you where you have to stay
When the party's over, hey yeah?
Can you face the longest march to come?
Now you know you're not the number one(Yeah, yeah)
You feel all right?
(Yeah, yeah)
You know it's 'packing in the mind
(Yeah, yeah)
But the hero says
(Yeah, yeah)
I get blind anyway
(Yeah, yeah)
Doesn't matter to me
(Yeah, yeah)
Whatever you say
(Yeah, yeah)
I got more than yesterday
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)Marching clock now he don't stop
Seen it quite a lot and he says
Take care of yourself
Old man sighs, shuts his eyes
And leaves behind another life
Take care of yourselfMillstones swing, grind your thing
Pay the tax and alimony
Take care of yourself
Raise that boy, he'll go far
And every weapon know my name is
Take care of yourself
Take care of yourself(Huh, you got)
You've got to take care of yourself
(Hey yeah yeah yeah yeah)
You've got to
(Baby yeah)
You've got to take care of yourself
You've got to
(Ooh ooh)
You've got to take care of yourself
You've got to
(Ooh ooh)

Internationally popular British funk-rock quartet fronted by Mark King and Mike Lindup, best known for their hits Lessons In Love, Something About You, The Sun Goes Down (Living It Up), Love Games and Hot Water. They were formed on the Isle of Wight.

Though their membership has fluctuated throughout the years, the original and perhaps best-known lineup consisted of Mark King aka "Thunderthumbs" (vocals & bass), Mike Lindup (vocals & keyboards) and brothers Boon Gould (guitar) and Phil Gould (drums). After the success of the Running in the Family album, the Gould brothers left the band, citing musical differences and nervous exhaustion. King and Lindup continued, picking up replacement artists in Gary Husband on drums and former Go West and Kate Bush guitarist Alan Murphy. Murphy sadly passed away after suffering from an AIDS related illness in October 1989. The band released their then swansong album, Forever Now, in 1994.

At the end of the 80s, Mark King was recognized as one of the best bass players in the world having pioneered the 'slap and pull' technique, treating the bass as a percussion instrument. His style and virtuosity still are hugely influential, considering he also sang while he played very difficult basslines.

Following the formal breakup of the band in the mid-90s King later performed with a new lineup under the Level 42 moniker, before he and Lindup reunited to record Retroglide in 2006.

As of 2012, King and Lindup are still touring with personnel of Pete Ray Biggin, Sean Freeman and Nathan King completing the current lineup.
