Take Me Home Lyrics

I can't get to sleep
I stayed up till
6am all week
I'm a mess
I can't stay on my feet
I'm a danger to my healthPeople everywhere
It still feels lonely
They don't seem to care
Cause they don't know me
Maybe that's not fair
I don't even know myselfI can't tell what I've been trying to find
All I know's I'm going out my mindI've spent too many nights in the corner
Oh, I used to be warm now I'm colder
I need you and your head on my shoulder
Take me homeI thought I knew before
When things were different
I walked out the door
So independent

Now I'm not so sure
With the way I'm missing youI don't know what I've been trying to prove
Or which mountains I've been trying to moveI've spent too many nights in the corner
Oh I used to be warm now I'm colder
I need you and your head on my shoulder
Take me homeI'm confusing what I'm trying to say
I'll tell you in person babe, I'm on my wayI've spent too many nights in the corner
Oh I used to be warm now I'm colder
I need you and your head on my shoulder
Take me homeI've seen so many places I'm tired
All I know is I'm so uninspired
I need you and your soul by the fire
Take me homeI need you and your soul by the fire
Take me home
Take me home

Inspired by a vast variety of artists, from Brian Wilson to Stevie Wonder, singer/songwriter/pianist Matt Simons pushes himself to grow beyond those influences to find his own voice and create his own sound. Often compared to Jamie Cullum, John Mayer and Adam Levine, Simons also infuses his piano based pop-rock with hints of jazz and R&B. Much of 2011 was spent on tour. In addition to visiting most of the US, he ventured to the UK, Netherlands and Germany in support of his 2010 release, the EP Living Proof. 2012 sees the release of his follow up album, Pieces, dropping 6/19.
