Take Me Somewhere Tonight Lyrics

I painted myself in a corner
Then drove myself up a wall.
I floated across your ceiling,
You waited for me to fall.
But I just turned around in the shadows
And you waited just as long as you could
And when that room finally cleared out enough
I came down and there you stood.
Hey, Take me somewhere tonight.
Hey baby be my crutch.
Don't ask me too many questions.
Don't make me talk too much.
Yeah, i just wanna feel somethin'
Yeah, anything is alright.
But we don't have to do nothin'
Just take me somewhere tonight.

We let ourselves out the front door,
And we made our way down to your ride,
You just kind of stared out the windshield,
And I just kind of melted inside.
Well onward we rolled down the highway,
With no destination in mind.
It wasn't about what i was lookin' for-
More what i was leaving behind.
Yeah, Take me somewhere tonight.
Hey baby be my crutch.
Don't ask me too many questions.
Don't make me talk too much.
Yeah, i just wanna feel somethin'
Yeah, anything is alright.
But we don't have to do nothin'
Just take me somewhere tonight.

Mike McClure is the epitome of a musician and is quite arguably the most influential force in the Red Dirt music scene today. He is a writer, a performer and a producer. He has a tremendous appreciation for the troubadours that came before him, particularly those that chose the road less traveled, and he embraces that same spirit on his own journeys. McClure began his music career as a founding member of the highly successful band The Great Divide.
