Take My Heart Lyrics

Today's another day
Let's forget about yesterday
Tomorrow's another way
To distract us from nowSo here we are, the day is young
What will be? What will become now?
I'm gonna let You decideI'll be me and You be You
Why do I confuse the two?
I've gotta swallow my prideTake my heart, take it all
I lay my life down at Your feet
'Cause I want what You want for me, yeah
Take my heart, take it allToday's another day
This tomorrow's yesterday is now
We're only one breath away
From it all falling downSo scatter those dreams
The ashes of our own opinions
Here's to good health, selfish ambition
Creating our own custom, religion
I'm so tired of myselfTake my heart, take it all

I lay my life down at Your feet
'Cause I want what You want for meHere we are, the day is young
What will be? What will become now?
I'm gonna let You decideI'll be me and You be You
Why do I confuse the two?
I've gotta swallow my prideTake my heart, take it all
I lay my life down at Your feet
I want what You want for me, yeahLord, bring it on, bring it on, Lord
Today, Lord, bring it on, bring it on
I want what You want for me
Today, whatever it takes
Whatever You want, bring it onI lay my life down, whatever it takes
Whatever You want, bring it on
Whatever You want, bring it on
Bring it on, bring it on, bring it on

Philip Joel (Urry) is a musician known as a solo artist in addition to being the bassist for Newsboys. He uses the name Phil Joel professionally due to pronunciation issues with his surname. Phil was born in Auckland, New Zealand and was adopted at birth. He left school to become a hairdresser. In his free time, he was lead singer and guitarist in the band Drinkwater. Though he had little experience with the instrument, Newsboys offered him a position as bassist in 1995. He said at the time, "I already know how to play a guitar with six strings, four should be a cinch.
