Take This Heart of Mine (2016 Remastered) Lyrics

Oh, you say, you're feeling nervous
The least thing makes you cry
Sounds like a real bad case of a girl who needs a guy
I think, I know the perfect cure
The one you ought to try
Take a heart that's full of love on which you can relyIf you need some satisfaction
And if you need a quick reaction
If you're tired of bein' lonely
'Cause I can help you
If you only take this heart of mineI may not be a doctor who can cure your ill
Prescribe you all those different colored
Hard-to-swallow pills
My remedy is older than the tale of Jack and Jill
My prescription is the kind
You'll love to have me fillIf you need some satisfaction
And if you need a quick reaction
If you're tired of bein' lonely
'Cause I can help you

If you only take this heart of mineGot a love inside that's pure as gold
Take it's yours to have and to hold
And if you do that baby, as we grow old
Tell the greatest story that's ever been toldIf you need some satisfaction
And if you need a quick reaction
If you're tired of bein' lonely
'Cause I can help you
If you only take this heart of mineTake this heart of mine
Take this heart of mine
Take this heart of mine
Take this heart of mine

In the late 1960s, Roger Earl and Lonesome Dave Peverett first toured America as members of the seminal British band Savoy Brown . Together with guitarist Kim Simmonds, Savoy Brown was on the cutting edge of the emerging British blues-rock scene, and they influenced countless musicians on both sides of the Atlantic. In 1971, wanting to give a more rock 'n roll flavour to the blues-boogie music they were playing with Savoy, Dave and Roger enlisted lead/slide guitarist Rod Price and bassist Tony Stevens, formed a new band, Foghat.
