Take Us Back Lyrics

Sometimes life can get ya
In a hurry but, uh
I'm just going to take it slow now
That don't mean I ain't been working y'all
I'm working on me, baby
I'm working on me, darling
I'm taking some time to see
The people who keep me going
Sometimes folk can lead ya
Down a bad line now
I'm not saying that I'm not judging now
I'm just going to tell you what I tell 'em now
I got friends and I got
I got family (I got)
I got help from all
the people who love me
I got friends and I got
I got family (I got)

I got help from all
the people who love me
Sometimes people try to
Take all they can from you but
They don't call me up for nothing now
If people ask for Pops he'll tell 'em that
She gets it from me, baby
She gets it from me, darling
Chicago wasn't always easy
But love made the Windy City breezy
I got friends and I got
I got family y'all (I got)
I got help from all
the people who love me
I got friends and I got
I got family (I got)
I got help from all the people who love me
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
I know I got love
I know I've got friends
I've got people
(Mavis take us back, Mavis take us back)
who love me
(Mavis take us back, Mavis take us back)
(Mavis take us back, Mavis take us back)
Oh yeah
(Mavis take us back, Mavis take us back)
(Mavis take us back, Mavis take us back)
(Working on me)
Baby
(Working on me)
Darling
(Working on me)
Baby
(Working on me)
Darling
Chicago wasn't always easy
But love made the Windy City breezy
I got friends and I got
I got family (I got)
I got help from all the
people who love me
I got friends and I got
I got family (I got)
I got help from all the
people who love me
Oh yeah, mm
Uh huh
Mmhmm
