Takin' My Time Lyrics

I'm takin' my time
So please don't rush me
Tryin' to sort out some things
I didn't know existedI've been here before
I know where the traps lie
You only take what's there
'Cause the rest doesn't matterWell I'm tired of talk
So please don't push me
You know I want the same
Kinda things that you doYou're wasting your time
The way you come on to me
Slow down your rhymes
And try to reasonCan't make things move any faster
By second wishing them to death
You seem to be living on a level
It's decent enoughYou got what you wanted
So why do you tell me
That I'm on the wrong track?

I'm doin' the best I can doI try to out guess the situation
That I know your not even fully aware of
And I want you to know if it keeps on this way
Can't keep on letting you bring me down
Can't keep on letting you bring me down

Bonnie Raitt, (born November 8, 1949) is an American blues and R&B singer, songwriter, and guitarist who was born in Burbank, California, the daughter of Broadway musical star John Raitt. Raitt began playing guitar at an early age, something not a lot of her high school girlfriends did. "I had played a little at school and at camp," she later recalled in a July 2002 interview. "My parents would drag me out to perform for my family, like all parents do, but it was a hobby—nothing more...I think people must wonder how a white girl like me became a blues guitarist.
