Taking Islands In Africa (Steve Nye Remix) Lyrics

Taking islands in Africa
Watch the slow boat hit and runOutside there's a world waiting
I'll take it all by storm
And when the sunset finds me
I'm coming homeTaking islands in Africa
Watch the slow boat hit and runEvery day the sun beats down
I pull away from shore
The wind blows hard into my sails
Now I know I'm out of touch
And times they could get tough
But I'll move on so how could I fail?Taking islands in Africa
Watch the slow boat hit and runWhen the evening fires burn
The daylight dead and gone
With you beside me we can runOutside there's a world waiting
I'll take it all by storm
And when the sunset finds me
I'm coming homeTaking islands in Africa
Watch the slow boat hit and run

Every day the sun beats down
I pull away from shore
The wind blows hard into my sails...

British art rock band Japan was formed in 1974 in Lewisham, South London, England with original members David Sylvian (vocals, guitar), Mick Karn (bass guitar, saxophone), Richard Barbieri (keyboards), Rob Dean (guitar), and Steve Jansen (percussion). Dean left the band before the recording of Japan's final album, Tin Drum. Japan began playing glam rock, influenced by David Bowie, The New York Dolls and motown. Japan debuted on record with 1978's Adolescent Sex and subsequently Obscure Alternatives, which both sold well in the nation of Japan, though nowhere else.
