Teachers Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
Teachers
They try to
Reach us
They said it's who you know
But now you're grown up
And it's time
You were tested
This city made you gold and only when you're fucked up
Do you miss the friends?
The names you crossed offAnd I know it's hard to be sane

Temptation is so friendly
I need this release now
I find I can't stop dreamingI'm awake
In a parking lot
Where all the friends
The names are crossed offWon't you ask me
Are you in love with the city?
All the stars
Whiskey bars
And I'm on my back I'm waiting
Yeah you could say that I'm praying
Will I remember
Where I misplaced you?And I know it's hard to be sane
Temptation is so friendly
You come back
To see it
The fever
You feel it!
I need this release now
I find I can't stop dreamingI'm awake
In a car
Hollywood
Boulevard
Is this who you are?Oh!
Run now!
Run now!I need this release now
I find I can't stop dreaming!

Young the Giant is an alternative rock band which formed in Irvine, California, United States in 2004. The band consists of Sameer Gadhia (vocals, percussion), Jacob Tilley (guitar), Eric Cannata (guitar), Payam Doostzadeh (bass) and François Comtois (drums). The band's name is purposefully nonsensical; Gadhia explained it as a "leftfield idea" meant to evoke curiosity.

The band released their debut self-titled album, Young the Giant, on 25 January 2011, which was preceded by a digital-only release in October 2010. The first single, "My Body," reached #5 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart, and a second single, "Cough Syrup," reached #3 on the same chart.

Previously, the band was known as The Jakes. They released a 7 song EP, Shake My Hand, in 2008, which including two songs ("Garands" and "Cough Syrup") now on the current self-titled album Young the Giant.
