Tearin' It Up (LarryLevan Mix) Lyrics

Verse 1:
I'm gonna make you love
If it's the last thing I do
I'm gonna make you with
That there were two of youBridge 1:
I think you're gonna need help
'cause I've been saving my love
For nobody but you
I'll make you melt
Like the snow in the summer
'cause you're blowin' my mind
I know it's gonna be all better
When you touch me (oh, oh, give it to me baby)
Love can't wait, you'll never get awayChorus:
Tearin' it up, tearin' it up
You were tearin' it up
Tearin' it up, tearin' it up
You were tearin' it upVerse 1Bridge 2:

Sittin' here checkin' you out
I know your moves
And all your grooves
And there's no doubt
That you give off a love vibe
That's all the way live
It's a woman's prerogative to change her mind
Hurry up, please stop wastin' time
Just give up, you'll never get awayChaka: I'm gonna make you love me
Male: girl, I'm gonna make you love me too
Chaka: I'm gonna make you love me, boyChorusI know you can make it,
Keep holdin' on because times is hard
It feels so good
To get close to you, can't give it up
Let me satisfy your life's desires
I wanna take you there
Opportunity knocks with passion and emotionMale: I'm gonna make you love me
Chaka: ooh, say it again and again and again and again
Male: I'm gonna make you love me if it's the last thing I do
Chaka: I'm gonna make you wish that there were two of youGonna make you love me, babe, gonna make you love me (7x)
Gonna make you love me, babe, again and again and a-
Gonna make you love me, babe, gonna make you love me
Gonna make you love me, babe, again and again and a-

Chaka Khan (born Yvette Marie Stevens; 23 March 1953 - Chicago, Illinois, USA), frequently known as the "Queen of Funk", is a 10-time Grammy Award winning American singer-songwriter who gained fame in the 1970s as the frontwoman and focal point of the funk band Rufus.

In 1964 at the age of 11 she formed her first group, the Crystalettes. While still in high school, she joined the Afro-Arts Theater, a group which toured with Motown great Mary Wells; a few years later, she adopted the African name Chaka Khan while working on the Black Panthers' breakfast program. After quitting high school in 1969, Khan joined the group Lyfe, soon exiting to join another dance band, the Babysitters; neither was on the fast track to success, but her fortunes changed when she teamed with ex-American Breed member Kevin Murphy and Andre Fisher to form Rufus.

Debuting in 1973 with a self-titled effort on the ABC label, Rufus was among the preeminent funk groups of the decade; distinguished by Khan's dynamic vocals, the group earned half a dozen gold or platinum albums.

While still a member of the group in 1978, Khan embarked on a successful solo career. Her signature hits, both with Rufus and solo, include "Tell Me Something Good", "Sweet Thing", "Ain't Nobody", "I'm Every Woman", "I Feel for You" and "Through the Fire".
