Telescope Lyrics

I wish I had a telescope to guide this ship tonight
And at break of light bursting through the sand heavy sky
How do I get to you now?
I guess I'll have to learn how to swim, so I won't drown
I wish I had a little hope to help me feel alright
And happy inside running through the sand heavy mind
How do I get to you now?
Guess I'll have to learn how to breathe and work it out
And I'll float the waves of rolling tides
I'll set my pace, bide my time
And I'll get to you, I'll get to you
I'll get to you, my love
I'll float the waves of rolling tides
And I'll set my pace, bide my time
And I'll get to you, I'll get to you
I'll get to you, my love

Mindy rose to fame in 2003 when she was the first artist signed to contribute to the Dolly Parton tribute album Just Because I'm a Woman: Songs of Dolly Parton, on which she sang a cover of Parton's classic "Jolene". In 2006 she released her second album Long Island Shores. Smith included Buddy Miller as a duet vocalist for What If The World Stops Turning?

In October 2007, Smith released a Christmas album, My Holiday. In addition to several standards, Smith wrote six original Christmas-themed songs. One standout, I Know The Reason, includes duet vocals by Thad Cockrell.
