Tell the Truth Lyrics

Smoke a cigarette
An' I know I've had enough
Mash whiskey in another paper cup
Didn't know it, babe
But your cup was runnin' over
Never time to do it right
But it's time to do it overAn' I lay awake
Big dreamers never sleep, no they don't
Time to play the cards, read 'em an' weep
Well I, I always heard it said
That the truth will set you free
Woman, with the way you do
Well, how can I believe?A smokin' mountain got to blow
I'm a livin' proof
Well, right now I think it's time
To tell the truth, babyTime to tell the truth
Yeah, you got to try
Stop lying, baby

Time to tell the truthDoin' time behind these bedroom walls
Blink of an eye, another shooting star falls
Tried to tell you, babe
But you don't want to hear me
Take one good look, these are tears of furyWell, then let it show, a big catastrophe
Now I don't wanna know your social activities
If the world loves a bad guy
Well, then, how 'bout the doubt?
I was first one to get in, baby
I'm the last one outProfess to love me, babe
Then, why can't I tell?
All you do is use me, babe
You're lying to yourselfI think it's time
Time to tell the truth
Stop lying, baby
Time to tell the truthMama, please
Baby, pleaseIf the world really loves a bad guy
Well, then, how 'bout the doubt?
Well, I was first one to get in
Now I'm the last one outSmokin' mountain got to blow
I'm livin' proof
And now I know it's time
Yes, it isTry
Time to tell the truth
Yeah, tell the truth now
Time to tell the truth
Stop lying, babyTime to tell the truth
Tell the truth now
Time to tell the truth
Tell the truth now, baby
Time to tell the truth

David Lee Roth (born October 10, 1954 in Bloomington, Indiana) is an American rock vocalist, songwriter, rock climber, adventurer, actor, author, and former radio personality, perhaps best known for his work with the band Van Halen and his fast-talking, larger-than-life persona.
