Ten Minutes (7" Version) Lyrics

Ten minutes to downtown
Is ten minutes too far
When my friends all say I'm crazy
Maybe I'm being selfish
Maybe I'm just scaredDon't be gone when I get home
I need you thereIf I had to explain it
I wouldn't know where to start
It's like you're falling in love
While I just fall apartTen minutes to downtown
Is ten minutes too far
When my heart is saying you're crazy
Maybe things are getting better
Maybe things aren't so badDon't be gone when I get home
You're all I haveIf I had to explain it
I wouldn't know where to start
It's like you're falling in love
While I just fall apartPockets empty, how can you tell me
That everything will work out?

A pointless fight when you're always right
And everything will work out, it works outSometimes, I miss you more
Whenever I'm at home
I've been home all summer
Now I'm leaving you alonePockets empty, how can you tell me
That everything will work out?
A pointless fight when you're always right
And everything will work out
Everything will work out
Everything will work out

The Get Up Kids are a Kansas City-based American rock band. Formed in 1995, the band was a major player in the mid-90's emo scene, otherwise known as the "second wave" of emo music. As they gained prominence, they began touring with bands such as Green Day and Weezer before becoming headliners themselves, eventually embarking on international tours of Japan and Europe. They founded Heroes & Villains Records, an imprint of the successful indie rock label Vagrant Records.
