Tennessee Lyrics

Tennessee, you've been good to me
Yes, I've come to believe, you're where I wanna be
You may not be what everybody needs
Tennessee, you're good enough for meI can see stars shining in your night
Your day time scenes like [Incomprehensible]
They may not be what everybody needs
But they touched my soul and that's good enough for meIt's been ten years now and I'm rooted in your soul
I'm rooted in your soul
Give me ten more years, I'll be rooted in your soul
Right here in your soulYou may not be what I will always need
But I call you home, if I can call you home
Then you're good enough for me

Mindy rose to fame in 2003 when she was the first artist signed to contribute to the Dolly Parton tribute album Just Because I'm a Woman: Songs of Dolly Parton, on which she sang a cover of Parton's classic "Jolene". Later Dolly Parton followed by adding backing vocals to a new mix of the song, which was then featured on Smith's debut album that was released in January 2004, One Moment More.

In 2006 she released her second album Long Island Shores. Smith included Buddy Miller as a duet vocalist for What If The World Stops Turning?

In October 2007, Smith released a Christmas album, My Holiday. In addition to several standards, Smith wrote six original Christmas-themed songs. One standout, I Know The Reason, includes duet vocals by Thad Cockrell.
