Testify Lyrics

She walked into the court her knees buckle
Saying for a man to survive, he needn't hustle
Seen and been through struggle her whole life
Made a transition from being his ho to his wifeStifling, the night upend
The ATF bust in
Her daddy was a hustla so she love them
Looked at the jury how can they judge him? She screamed"Before you lock my love away
Before you lock my love away
Before you lock my love away
Before you lock my love away"Fear in her chest her face with tears
Had her man's back, he was facing years
In her name though the place was his
They trying to take everything except the kidsBut years she been through stumbling fights
While he trying to hustle that white
Up all night wondering if he's alive
Seeing him tried she bubbled inside and screamed"Before you lock my love away
Before you lock my love away
Before you lock my love away

Before you lock my love away"The judge yelled for order
The court reporter making her words shorter
His lawyer sat next to him
She could see how the trial was affecting himIt hurt for her eyes to connect with him
Using her lies for protecting him
They arrested him for murder and gun possession
As they read back her confession she screamed"Before you lock my love away
Before you lock my love away
Before you lock my love away
Before you lock my love away"The court awaited as the foreman got the verdict from the bailiff
Emotional outbursts tears and smeared makeup
He stated, he was guilty on all charges
She's shaking looking like she took it the hardestA spin artist, she brought her face up laughing
That's when the prosecutor realized what happened
All that speaking her mind testifying and crying
When this bitch did the crime, the queenpin"Before you lock my love away
Before you lock my love away
Before you lock my love away
Before you lock my love away"Please let me testify, you accuse me of a
You accuse me of a, you accuse
Please let me testify, you accuse me of a
You accuse me of a, you accusePlease let me testify, you accuse me of a
You accuse me of a, you accuse
Please let me testify, you accuse me of a
You accuse me of a

Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr. (born March 13, 1972 in Chicago, Illinois), better known by his stage name Common (previously Common Sense), is a Grammy award winning rapper, author and actor known for lyrics that focus on love and spirituality. Signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music, many people describe him as being a conscious hip hop artist who makes songs that send a message. He debuted in 1992 with the album Can I Borrow a Dollar? and maintained a significant underground following into the late 90s, after which he gained notable mainstream success through his work with the soulquarians.

As well as music, Common has worked as an actor, on the films 'Smokin' Aces' (as Sir Ivy) 'American Gangster' (as Turner Lucas) and 'Wanted'. He may also be seen in cameo roles in films such as 'Brown Sugar'.

His debut was the 1992 album Can I Borrow A Dollar, but he achieved little critical or commercial success until 1994's Resurrection, an instant classic. He produced several more albums, notably Like Water For Chocolate and the highly experimental Electric Circus, before releasing the Kanye West and J Dilla-produced Be in 2005, which was his first album to receive widespread mainstream appeal and radio playtime.

Common is considered a "cred" artist, which has lead him to collaborations with the likes of De La Soul, Jadakiss, T.i, Talib Kweli, The Roots, Kanye West, Lily Allen, Erykah Badu, and Fort Minor.

2007's Finding Forever was produced mainly by long-time collaborator, Kanye West.

Universal Mind Control is the 8th album from Chicago hip-hop artist Common.
