Thank God For You Lyrics

Well, I've been called a self-made man
And girl don't you believe it's true
I know exactly how lucky I am
When I'm gettin' this close to youIt's high time I'm giving some praise
To those that got me where I am todayI got to thank mama for the cookin'
Daddy for the whuppin'
The Devil for the trouble that I get intoI go to give credit where credit is due
I thank the bank for the money
Thank God for youA strong heart and a willing hand
That's the secret to my success
A good women, I try to be a good man
A good job, Lord, I know I've been blessedI'm just a part of a greater plan
It doesn't matter which part I amI got to thank mama for the cookin'
Daddy for the whuppin'
The Devil for the trouble that I get intoI go to give credit where credit is due
I thank the bank for the money
Thank God for youI got to thank mama for the teachin'
Daddy for the preachin'

The Devil for the trouble that I get intoI got to give credit where credit is due
I thank the bank for the money
Thank God for youMama
Daddy
DevilYeah, I got to give credit where credit is due
I thank the bank for the money
Thank God for youI thank mama
I thank daddy
DevilWell, I got to give credit where credit is due
I thank the bank for the money
Thank God for you

Sawyer Brown is a country music band formed in 1981 at a Pizza Hut restaurant in Apopka, Florida. Lead singer Mark Miller asked keyboardist Gregg "Hobie" Hubbard to play piano for a couple of songs he had written. The two left for Nashville, Tennessee, where they met up with Florida drummer Joe Smyth, Michigan bass player Jim Scholten and original lead guitarist Bobby Randall. They first called the band "Savanah", but renamed themselves "Sawyer Brown" after Sawyer Brown Road, the street where they rehearsed.
