That's My Life In Your Hands Lyrics

With the sky caving in and the world falling out
Hope seems a stranger, shackled in doubt
I feel I'm entitled - in no way obliged-
To save you from drowning
In the sea in my eyesThat's my life in your hands
So that's no way to talk
That's my life in your hands
Built on solid rock, not grains of sandStep into the light with your violins
I'll keep reaching out, 'till one of us wins
We're almost in danger - admit it, it's plain-
Of sleeping in sorrow, woking in painChorusWhen all hope has gone and you've no sense of
Loss
Flooding your heart - no way across
I fell I'm entitled - in no way obliged
To save you from drowning
In the sea in my eyesChorus

Steve Harley was born as Steven Nice, on 27 February 1951 in South London, growing up in New Cross and attended the school Haberdashers' Aske's Hatcham College. His musical career began in the late 1960s when he was busking (with John Crocker) and performing his own songs, some of which were later recorded by him and the band. The original Cockney Rebel was formed when Steve hooked up with his former folk partner, John Crocker (fiddle / mandolin / guitar) in 1972. They auditioned drummer Stuart Elliott, bassist Paul Jeffreys, and keyboardist Milton Reame-James.
