The Ballad of Go Go Brown (7'' Version) Lyrics

If that's why they call him go-go brown
He'd say (? )
If that's why some people put him down
He'd say it costs his name as go-go brownAll the girls in town
Used to follow him around
Go-go brown
Go-go brownAll the boys would sing
We're gonna make this go-go king
Go-go brown
Go-go brownGo-go brown is the smartest guy by far
A brand new girlfriend and a brand new car
The girls all thought that he was heaven-sent
'one day this boy will be a president'All the church bells ring
When that go-go used to sing
Go-go brown
Go-go brownHere the people say
'he's gonna be someone someday'
Go-go brown

Go-go brownThen one day some bad men came to call
And go-go knew it's time to take a fall
He's been smoking since the age of ten
He took some crack, he sold some smack
And now he's in the penAll the girls in town
Used to follow him around
Go-go brown
Go-go brownAll the boys would sing
We're gonna make this go-go king
Go-go brown
Go-go brownHe raised them all
Yes he do
He faced the wall
Yes he did
He stood tall
Yes he do
Who did he let down
Just one man that's go-go brown (? )All the church bells ring
When that go-go used to sing
Go-go brown
Go-go brownHere the people say
'he's gonna be someone someday'
Go-go brown
Go-go brownAll the girls in town
Used to follow him around
Go-go brown
Go-go brownAll the boys would sing
We're gonna make that go-go king
Go-go brown
Go-go brownAll the girls in town
Used to follow him around
Go-go brown
Go-go brown

Heaven 17 is a British synthpop band originating in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, formed in 1980. Taking their name from a fictional pop group mentioned in Anthony Burgess's novel A Clockwork Orange (where 'The Heaven Seventeen' are at number 4 in the charts with 'Inside'), Heaven 17 formed when Ian Craig Marsh and Martyn Ware split from their earlier group The Human League and formed production company British Electric Foundation (B.E.F.). Shortly after, they recruited their good friend and photographer Glenn Gregory on vocals to complete their lineup for Heaven 17.
