The Beast (live) Lyrics

Run from the beast
There's danger in his eyes
He's been looking for you
For a long time
You might think this is funny
But I'm not laughing
I know it couldn't happen to meNo one doubts
The wisdom of this move
You're getting older
And you know you got
Something to proveOut in the streets
The modern vampire prowls
He's been spreading disease
All aroundThere's an epidemic
If you don't believe me
You ought to take a look
At the eyes of your friendsWhen someone tempts you
You can't refuse

It's getting colder and you know
You got nothing to lose
You need it
Know you got nothing to lose
You need itRun from the beast
There's darkness in his mind
He's been looking for you
For a long time
You might think this is funny
But I'm not laughing
I know that it couldn't happen to meI don't care about
It happening to meI've tried to show you
Your whole life in print
You can lead a horse to water
But you can't make him drink
Think about it
All you gotta do is think
About itThere's no cure

The Only Ones are a power pop band which formed in 1976 in London, England. They consist of Peter Perrett (vocals, guitar), John Perry (guitar), Alan Mair (bass) and Mike Kellie (drums). The band is best known for their 1978 single "Another Girl, Another Planet" which was called "arguably the greatest rock single ever recorded" by Allmusic contributor Andy Claps. The band broke up in 1982 and reunited in 2007. They were associated with the punk rock 70's punk scene, yet straddled the musical territory in between punk, power pop and hard rock, with noticeable influences from psychedelia.
