The Bed I Made Lyrics

All the ways I cared for you
Are working like you want them to
As I break down and you stay strong
I write my own forgiveness songI try to lie down and sleep it off like a drug
But it's not your concern
Another night and it's only right
I toss and I turn in the bed I madeThe wine dark room, the flashing eyes
That hung me from my string of lies
You said you were numb from wondering
I guess I wasn't listeningI try to lie down and sleep it off like a drug
But you're not concerned
Another night and it's only right
That I toss and I turn in the bed I madeWith my own hands
I fashioned this frame
And into the wood
I carved out my nameI try to lie down and sleep it off like a drug
But you're not concerned
Another night and it's only right

That I toss and I turn in the bed I madeAnd it's only right
That I toss and I turn in the bed I made
The bed I made

Bonnie Raitt, (born November 8, 1949) is an American blues and R&B singer, songwriter, and guitarist who was born in Burbank, California, the daughter of Broadway musical star John Raitt. Raitt began playing guitar at an early age, something not a lot of her high school girlfriends did. "I had played a little at school and at camp," she later recalled in a July 2002 interview. "My parents would drag me out to perform for my family, like all parents do, but it was a hobby—nothing more...I think people must wonder how a white girl like me became a blues guitarist.
