The Best Kept Secret Lyrics

The view outside
The best kept secret
No one can reach it
No one believesIt's in the air
A chance to run now
So here I come now
It's time to leaveWho can remember just who is the leader
A soft spoken showman, accepted, encouraged
While under the cities the shuffle of
Money is speakingThe power of choice is the power of reason
The power of voice is the key to the world
So now just count the times that the chill in their words
Leaves you freezingTell me you're safe
That I'm not dreaming
No night thoughts screaming
No face in the rainFor the first time
The view is clearing
No longer fearing

The shadow of painA certain smile
Conceals the highest card
Beyond this place
The rains are falling hardSomeone somewhere
The voice you never hear
Salvation ringing clear
Always aheadPlease help me now
To see the blazing light
The stars return tonight
Burning so redWho can remember just who is the leader
A soft spoken showman, accepted, encouraged
While under the cities the shuffle of
Money is speakingThe power of choice is the power of reason
The power of voice is the key to the world
So now just count the times that the chill in their words
Leaves you freezingA certain smile
Conceals the highest card
Beyond this place
The rains are falling hardFalling hard
Falling hard
Falling hard

Heaven 17 is a British synthpop band originating in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, formed in 1980. Taking their name from a fictional pop group mentioned in Anthony Burgess's novel A Clockwork Orange (where 'The Heaven Seventeen' are at number 4 in the charts with 'Inside'), Heaven 17 formed when Ian Craig Marsh and Martyn Ware split from their earlier group The Human League and formed production company British Electric Foundation (B.E.F.). Shortly after, they recruited their good friend and photographer Glenn Gregory on vocals to complete their lineup for Heaven 17.
