The Clearing in the Woods (Narration) Lyrics

Are you sleeping? Can you hear me?
Do you know if I am by your side?
Does it matter if you hear me?
When the morning comes I'll be there by your sideAnd in the morning when I wake up
She may be telling me goodbye, la la la la
And in the evening if we break up
I'm wondering why, I'm wondering whyThere was a time, we had a time
There was a time, we had a time
There was a time, there was a time
When you were mineWe had a time, we had a time
We had a time, oh what a time
There was a time, there was a time
When you were mineAnd in the evening if we go out
Night time will find us at the show
Or we may decide to stay inside
You never know, you never know
You never know, you never know
You never knowAre you sleeping or can you hear me?

Do you know if I am by your side?
Does it matter if you hear me?
When the morning comes I'll be there by your sideLa la la
La la la

Harry Edward Nilsson III (born June 15, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York - died January 15, 1994), sometimes credited simply as Nilsson, was an American singer-songwriter with a three octave vocal range. He won Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Male Vocal Performance for "Everybody's Talkin'" (1970) and "Without You" (1973), also his two biggest hits. Although both the aforementioned songs were composed by others, he was a talented songwriter in his own right, having written "One", a hit single for Three Dog Night.
