The Corporate Enthusiast Lyrics

The corporate beast has got me
And I've fallen in the trap
This beast it feeds on me
And I'm never coming backYou've sucked the truth out of me
Abolished honesty
I can't escape, it's got me
Independence dying slowlyWelcome to the machine
Welcome to the machine
It's eating me alive
Welcome to the machine
Welcome to the machine
Sell out your life or dieIn pursuit of your polished altars
You dream of presidents
Sell your god, sell your faith and market
Prices are rising fastI never asked for this
My intentions were pure
I never meant to enlist
In the corporate music warWelcome to the machine

Welcome to the machine
It's eating me alive
Welcome to the machine
Welcome to the machine
Sell out your life or dieYour world is painted mint green
You believe green is everythingThis machine has taken me away
This machine has taken me away
This machine has taken me away
This machine has got me
[Incomprehensible]The corporate beast has got me
And I've fallen in the trap
This beast it feeds on me
And I'm never coming backWelcome to the machine
Welcome to the machine
It's eating me alive
Welcome to the machine
Welcome to the machine
Sell out your life or dieWelcome to the machine
Welcome to the machine
(It's eating me alive)
Welcome to the machine
Welcome to the machineWelcome to the machine
Welcome to the machine
(It's eating me alive)
Welcome to the machine
Welcome to the machine

Dead Poetic was a rock band hailing from Dayton, Ohio. The band first garnered attention in the underground music scene following the release of their first full-length Four Wall Blackmail which was released by Tooth & Nail subsidiary Solid State Records, and single "August Winterman." In the fall of 2004 personal disagreements within the band caused bassist Chad Shellabarger, drummer Josh Shellabarger, and guitarist Todd Osborn to all depart the band, and Dead Poetic appeared to be a thing of the past.
