The Creature from the Black Lagoon Lyrics

All he wanted was a lady
When at night he came up from the deep
He was feeling like any other lonely fella
Decided to take one while the city was asleepThe unsuspecting maiden
Was clutched from where she lay
And taken away to a home down under
The waters of the local bayBy the Creature from the Black Lagoon-a
Strange to see him back so soon
After his last intended did the dirty on him
Didn't last five minutes in the swimWith the Creature from the Black Lagoon-a
Be seeing him again real soon
After this intended lets him down
Won't last five minutes with him aroundOnly surfaced for a companion
'Cause of that he's never been seen
Just a big look written in the eyes of his baby
And a cry of terror, a honeymoon screamThe unsuspecting maiden
Will be clutched from where she sleeps
And taken away to a home down under

The water and that's for keepsBy the Creature from the Black Lagoon-a
Strange to see him back so soon
After his last intended did the dirty on him
Didn't last five minutes in the swimThe unsuspecting maiden
Will be clutched from where she sleeps
And taken away to a home down under
The water and that's for keepsBy the Creature from the Black Lagoon-a
Strange to see him back so soon
After his last intended did the dirty on him
Didn't last five minutes in the swimWith the Creature from the Black Lagoon-a
Be seeing him again real soon
After this intended lets him down
Won't last five minutes with him aroundBy the Creature from the Black Lagoon-a
Strange to see him back so soon
After his last intended did the dirty on him
Didn't last five minutes in the swimWith the Creature from the Black Lagoon-a
Be seeing him again real soon
After this intended lets him down

Dave Edmunds (born April 15, 1944) is a singer, guitarist and producer from Cardiff, Wales. Though he was primarily associated with pub rock and New Wave, and had numerous hits in the late 70's and early 80's, he was steadfastly devoted to pre-Beatles rock and roll. An infrequent songwriter, Edmunds has largely relied on cover songs or custom-written material to sustain his career. In the late 1960s he led a blues-rock trio called Love Sculpture, who scored a quasi-novelty hit by reworking Khachaturian's classical piece "Sabre Dance" as a speed-crazed rock number.
