The Day After Everything Changed Lyrics

Doot doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo....doooooo
Doot doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo....dooooooIt was like a hummingbird flew through the air between us
Bringing nectar from your lips to mine
It was the kind of honey kiss that I had never tasted
Straight to my head like wine
I carried home the rush, the crush - your touch still burning on my skin
I'm falling in, falling in - where you stop and I begin[chorus]
Leaves they fall - a clock is turning on the wall
Colors change
Iron rust - you can trust it will never stay the same
It's the day after everything changedDoot doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo....dooooooBehind the walls are cracks - the truth that will reveal us
Like water breaking stone
Buckets of rain are falling in the sheets between us
We lie together - we lie alone
Is it beautiful or broken - has it faded now unspoken?
A crack in the windowpane can break the world in two[chorus]
Leaves they fall, a clock is turning on the wall
Colors change

Iron rust - you can trust that it will never be the same
It's the day after everything changedDoot doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo....doooooo
Doot doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo....doooooo

Ellis Paul (born Paul Plissey, January 14, 1965) is an American singer-songwriter and folk musician. Born in Aroostook County, Maine, Paul is a key figure in what has become known as the Boston school of songwriting, a literate, provocative and urbanely romantic folk-pop style that helped ignite the folk revival of the 1990s. His folk-pop music songs have appeared in movies and on television, and are said to bridge the gap between the modern folk sound and the populist traditions of Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger.
