The Departure Lyrics

I came back to life
Naked, tied to the floor
In the corner of my eyes
I saw them coming through the doorAll is black, all is white
Gotta open my eyes
And faced the airport lightsI stared into the eyes of eternity
I've seen what no man's ever seen
I stared into the eyes of eternity
I've been where no man's ever beenI cannot move, behind myself is a spark
I pray on myself of who I left behindAnd as I look around
Then I realize I'm all alone
The dark so wide so wasted
Chills me to the boneOh, suddenly arising up in the air
My mind was burning
The [Incomprehensible] spare
I said farewell to the bodies, they're stealingAll is black, all is white
I open my eyes
And face the airport lightsI stared into the eyes of eternity

I've seen what no man's ever seen
I stared into the eyes of eternity
I've been where no man's ever beenAlways setting us free
I'll fit right back into the dream
But something here just keeps me awakeAnd I'm cut wide open
Maybe they search for my soul
This is more than a human can takeAnd don't tell me I'm dreaming
I know what I saw
I'll feel alive like never beforeI stared into the eyes of eternity
And I've seen what no man's ever seen
I stared into the eyes of eternity
I've been where no man's ever beenI stared into the eyes of eternity
I've seen what no man's ever seen
I stared into the eyes of eternity
I've been where no man's ever been

The Swedish death metal band Hypocrisy was formed by Peter Tägtgren in 1990 upon his return to Sweden from Florida, where he had been inspired by that state's flourishing death metal scene (bands like Morbid Angel, Deicide, Death and Obituary). Hypocrisy's first demo was recorded entirely by Tägtgren himself; once it secured him a record deal, he recruited a lineup of Masse Broberg (Vocals), Jonas Österberg (Guitar), Mikael Hedlund (Bass) and Lars Szöke (Drums), while he himself settled on guitar.
