The Dream Believer Lyrics

Where can it be and what time is it gonna be there
Tell me baby, I want to know
Reach for the sky with every cloud at the silver lining
Step on a chase you dream and don't let go
I said never let go my baby no no noI can feel the negative that's all over me
And all because I was talking so much
That my eyes could never seeWe've got to open up our minds
And read between the lines
'Cause in the shadow of friendship
There might be someone standing there
Waiting to destroy the faith
Of the dream believer (dream believer)
Now close your eyes and see the sky in so many different colors
Hand in hand, why can't this be
This is your thing, stand strong and let it go to your way
Let them know, don't ever let your dreams go, baby, noI can feel much pain and hunger through the world
And all because we don't take the time
We've got all the boys and girlsYou've got to open up your heart

Believe it from the start (don't be giving baby)
That in the shadow of friendship
There might be someone standing there
Waiting to destroy the faithWe've got to open up our mind
And read to tells your signs apart
'Cause in the shadow of friendship
There might be someone standing there
Waiting to destroy the faith
Of the dream believer
Good god, hit me
Martin Luther King
And I want you to know the night
That we and the people will get to the promised land
So I'm happy the night that I'm not worried
About anything, I'm not fear it in me man
My eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the landI can feel much pain and hunger through the world
All because we don't take the time
We've got all the boys and girlsWe've got to open up your mind
And read between the lines
'Cause in the shadow of friendship
There might be someone standing there
Waiting to destroy the faith
Of the dream believer
Of the dream believer
Of the dream believer

Full Force rose to prominence in the mid-'80s, writing and producing popular R&B hits for Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam before embarking on a moderately successful solo career that ultimately led them back to production work in the late '90s. The six-man collective — featuring Paul Anthony, Bowlegged Lou, B-Fine, Baby Gerry, Shy Shy, and Curt-t-t — originated in Brooklyn, NY, where they originally met up with Steve Salem in the late '70s, a business-savvy individual who functioned as their manager.
