The End Lyrics

First time we met
Face became etched
In my mindYou were the sun
I was the one who worshiped you
My hands were your guns
Your eyes were my museAnd I knew you could never love me
I had so much sorrow inside
You could never reach
But can I still keep a place in your heartYou broke my heart
You promised me the moon and stars
I fell for your dreams, I fell for your lies
There was no other way, you know I triedAnd I knew you could never love me
I had so much sorrow inside
You could never reach
But can I still keep a place in your heartThere is something I want you to know
I think you know exactly what it is
I didn't want to save you, I didn't want to save you
I set our house on fire to watch it burn

But I couldn't just leave youAnd I knew you could never love me
I had so much sorrow inside
You could never reachBut I'll ask you this
Will you still miss me?
I still miss you
Will you love me?
Yes, I love youPlanes fill the sky
We'll both die tonight, we'll both die tonight
Hands from the sky swat us away like flies
As we follow the lights
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoaPlanes fill the sky
We'll both die tonight, we'll both die tonight
Hands from the sky swat us away like flies
As we follow the lightsWe'll both die tonight, we'll both die tonight
We'll both die tonight, we'll both die tonight
We'll both die tonight as we follow the lights
Follow the lightsThis union, a battle fought and lost
This union was not about the cause
This union was never about love

Silverstein is a 5-piece rock band from Burlington, Ontario, Canada; formed in 2000. The band name was taken from the famous children's author Shel Silverstein. After several lineup changes, the band acquired Billy Hamilton, a local fan who learned of the band's need for a bassist on the Internet message board "The 905 Board" (an Ontario area outreach board which used to be for local musicians). In Christmas of 2001, he joined the band after Shane Told helped him learn the music for the songs. Following a rehearsal on Boxing Day (December 26) in 2001, he officially debuted with Silverstein.
