The Finish Line Lyrics

My name is Inmate number 30268 and I
Decided not to stay.
I doubt they'll kick up any fuss or old roadblock
for an old crook like me.
I was in the path of the tornado
I just didn't expect the spinning
would last as long as it has, you know,
So I keep repeating.
I just keep repeating.
There's always hope that no good thing ever dies.
The river is carrying each one of us to the
finish line.
One day we'll be on the other side
*Instrumental*
These are not the chosen things.
These are the things that have chosen me.
And I'm riding for my life; it's a terrible thing
to be afraid all the time.

When you reach the point of a death wish,
feeling that anything
has got to be better than this then just
keep repeating
Just go on repeating.
There's always hope,
that no good thing ever dies.
The river is carrying each one of us
to the finish line.
One day we'll be on the other side
Ahhh
One day we'll be on the other side
*Instrumental*

Rocky Votolato is an American musician. He was born in rural Texas in 1978, though was raised in the Pacific Northwest. When his former band Lying on Loot disbanded in 1996, Rocky Votolato, along with friends Rudy Gajadhar (drums) and Andrew Hartley (bass), started playing under the name Waxwing. Rocky's younger brother Cody (The Blood Brothers) soon joined the band on second guitar, and the band recorded their debut 7" for Henry's Finest Recordings. In 1999, Second Nature Recordings released their first full-length, entitled 'For Madmen Only'.
