The Fish of the Sea Lyrics

Come all you young sailor men, listen to me I'll sing you a song of the fish in the sea.
And it's:
Windy weather, boys, stormy weather, boys
When the wind blows, we're all together, boys;
Blow ye winds westerly, blow ye winds, blow
Jolly sou'wester, boys, steady she goes
Up jumps the eel with his slippery tail
Climbs up aloft as he reefs the topsail
Then up jumps the shark with his nine rows of teeth
Saying, "You eat the dough boys, and I'll eat the beef!"
And it's:
Windy weather, boys, stormy weather, boys
When the wind blows, we're all together, boys;
Blow ye winds westerly, blow ye winds, blow
Jolly sou'wester, boys, steady she goes

Up jumps the cod with his chuckle head
He runs up the cannon and throws out the led
And out jumps the herring the king of the sea
Saying: "All other fishes now you follow me"
And it's:
Windy weather, boys, stormy weather, boys
When the wind blows, we're all together, boys;
Blow ye winds westerly, blow ye winds, blow
Jolly sou'wester, boys, steady she goes
Up jumps the whale, the largest of all
"If you want any wind, well, I'll blow ye a squall!"
Then up jumps the fisherman stalwart 'n' grim
And with his big net he scoops 'em all in
And it's:
Windy weather, boys, stormy weather, boys
When the wind blows, we're all together, boys;
(The a second underlying chorus is sung)
Blow ye winds westerly, blow ye winds, blow
Jolly sou'wester, boys, steady she goes
Windy weather, boys, stormy weather, boys
When the wind blows, we're all together, boys;
(The underlying chorus meets with the main chorus)
Blow ye winds westerly, blow ye winds, blow
Jolly sou'wester, boys, steady she goes!

There are 5 bands with the name The Jolly Rogers. The First is from North Carolina. They have recorded on the John Lennon bus. They released their first abum "Under The Sombrero" on April 20 2007. They are no longer active. The second is a ska band from Hamilton, Ontario formed mostly by students and ex-students of Westmount and Hill Park secondary schools. The band became locally huge to an extent that hadn't been seen for a ska band in the Hamilton area since the Wisties. On February 20, 2006, the sax player of the band died and the band hasn't played any shows since.
