The Haze Lyrics

Vanishing the frozen things that haunt you in your heart
memories eventually will tear themselves apart
Beasts and babies drain away the colors of your face
down below the waters grow to carry you awayFar below we see them
the strangers in the road
pull me from the haze
we'll fly away
leave me in the morning
when you go along your wayMonuments of angry men stand everywhere you go
lose the map, don't go back, desert your happy home
Deep beneath the city streets the silver stream awaits
there the clones will grow their bones into another shapeFar below we see them
the strangers in the road
pull me from the haze
we'll fly away
leave me in the morning
when you go along your wayAnd the superman are laughing at you now
and the snakes are crawling from the underground

and the eyes of god are watching from the sky
and the creature will defeat you in the nightVoice of thunder pouring out the secrets in the skies
coming through the morning to erase the modern mind
Throats of birds are wet with words caught from the misty rain
all of them repeating, circled in an endless chainFar below we see them
the strangers in the road
pull me from the haze
we'll fly away
leave me in the morning
when you go along your way

Hailing from Athens, Georgia, Elf Power are a band of the Elephant 6 collective. Their sound lies somewhere in between that of the upbeat pop rock of the Apples in Stereo, and the lo-fi tendencies of Neutral Milk Hotel or The Olivia Tremor Control. Formed in 1993, Elf Power released their debut LP "Vainly Clutching at Phantom Limbs" in 1995. Since then, they have released nine more LP's. The band members are Andrew Rieger (guitarist/vocalist), Laura Carter (keyboardist), Jimmy Hughes (guitarist), Derek Almstead (bassist), Eric Harris, Heather McIntosh (cellist), and Josh Lott (drummer).
