The Last to Know Lyrics

Standing alone in solitude
Holding your head in your hands
Tears play like rain on your fingertips
Who but yourself is to blame?
How could i offer sympathy?
When all i feel is pure rejectionI was the first one to really know your name
And you were the first one for me
But everyone knew but me
You were the first one to ever let me down
And i was just the last to knowI was the fool who trusted you
No evil thoughts in my mind
When i saw you going out with him
Who could i blame, for this deception?

Gary Burton (born on 23 January 1943 in Anderson, Indiana) is a jazz vibraphone player, known for developing the innovative technique of playing the instrument with four mallets, rather than the usual two. He studied with Herb Pomeroy at the Berklee College of Music, where he met the composer and arranger Michael Gibbs, with whom he subsequently collaborated frequently. Burton, who released his debut album in 1961 at the age of 18, spent the early parts of his career playing with George Shearing and then in Stan Getz's piano-less mid-sixties quartet.
