The London Bridge Lyrics

I may never bridge the gap that exists
From my fingertips to your body and back again
If I cant say on my dying day
That I spent my time making you smile
I didnt quite liveThey took brick by brick the whole London Bridge
And moved it to some lonely desert to sit
It weathers away, miles from the Thames
Where it once stood for kings, my fair darlingIts falling
Im head over heels for you dear
If sticks and bones cant hold it up
Id swim across to youAnd she sat outside that caf
As I pulled back the shades I saw her face
In the sunlight it blinded me
With atoms colliding thousands of miles way
But she felt further from meWell I wish I could tell you how I feel
Keep your ear to the ground
Cause Im singing it out at the top of my lungs
That I need you

From the other side of the streamIts falling
Im head over heels for you dear
If sticks and bones cant hold it up
Id swim across to youIts falling
Im head over heels for you dear
If silver and gold cant hold it up
Id get across to you

For those who don't know, The Senators were a British band who were around in the late 80s and early 90s, and consisted of two brothers - Mick and Jim Kitson. Their music is not always easy to classify - I've heard it described as various things, from pop to soul to folk, and in truth there are Senators songs which fit into all of those categories. Unlike a lot of music from that period however, their records don't seem horribly dated today, so if it didn't sound so toe-curlingly pretentious, I'd describe their music as 'timeless'.
