The London Sun Lyrics

Socrates ain’t got nothing on me
When it comes to over thinking
Paranoid that’s how I prefer to be
Into the ground I’m sinking
Then you call and you say
To me in your ordinary way
That you can’t help me out
Of the ordinary
You’re just like the London Sun, man
You’re over and done with, before you’ve begun
And I won’t be like the only one
Who would stand there and smile and try to be fun
When I say, hey baby, what went wrong
We go back to beginnings, the story’s too long
To be told like you were the only one
Who ever got left in the dark by the London Sun
Hurricanes are blowing out my brains
But my eyes are calm and hollow

Airplane stalls from the sky it falls
You can read the news tomorrow
Then you call and you say
To me in your ordinary way
That your life has become
Too fucking ordinary
You’re just like the London Sun, man
You’re over and done with, before you’ve begun
And I won’t be like the only one
Who would stand there and smile and try to be fun
When I say, hey baby, what went wrong
We go back to beginnings, the story’s too long
To be told like you were the only one
Who ever got left in the dark by the London
Leave if you wanna leave, it’s alright
I know what it’s like to feel like
Life is passing by
When you are stuck in the place you're in
Ordinary space you're in
I’m stuck at a nook in the place
That I’m stuck in with you
You’re just like the London Sun, man
You’re over and done with, before you’ve begun
And I won’t be like the only one
Who would stand there and smile and try to be fun
When I say, hey baby, what went wrong
We go back to beginnings, the story’s too long
To be told like you were the only one
Who ever got left in the dark by the London
You’re just like the London Sun, man
You’re over and done with, before you’ve begun
And I won’t be like the only one
Who would stand there and smile and try to be fun
When I say, hey baby, what went wrong
We go back to beginnings, the story’s too long
To be told like you were the only one
Who ever got left in the dark by the London Sun
By the London Sun
By the London Sun
By the London Sun
By the London

Wheatus is a rock band from Northport, New York formed by Brendan Brown (vocals, guitar) in 1998. After writing a few songs, Brown enlisted his brother Peter Brown (drums) and Rich Ligey (bass) to record a demo. In 1999 the band signed with Columbia Records and released their debut album, Wheatus, the following year. This album contained the band's first, and so far biggest, hit, Teenage Dirtbag (from the movie Loser).

For the bands second album, Hand Over Your Loved Ones, Shannon Harris (from Relish) joined on keyboards. Due to disagreements with the record label, mostly caused by Brendan Brown's wish to self-produce the album, the album received little promotion and did not sell well.

Michael Bellar (keyboards) then joined the band and they re-released their second album (containing two new songs) on their own record label, Montauk Mantis, this time named Suck Fony. In 2005 they released their third studio album, TooSoonMonsoon, once again on their own label.

In 2005, both Mike McCabe (bass) and Michael Bellar (keyboards) left and were replaced by Nicolas diPierro and Gerard Hoffman. Then the following year, diPierro and Pete Brown left and were replaced by Matt Milligan (bass) and Kevin Garcia (drums).

Current lineup:
Brendan Brown (vocals)
Matt Milligan (bass)
Gerald Hoffman (keyboards)
Kevin Garcia (drums)
Johanna Cranitch (backing vocals)
Georgia Haege (backing vocals)
