The Lonesome Side of Town Lyrics

There's a place I know too well
I've been there and left to tell
I can see that you and me are almost half way thereWe're gettin' much too close
Feels like I've seen a ghost
Took a vow, if I made it out you'd never catch me there againNo time to wonder why
No time for long goodbyes
Last chance for gettin' out
Is fading with the light'Cause I don't want to be around
When the night comes down
On the lonesome side of townYou can hear each footstep fall
Run from shadows on the wall
Every day is just the same as one that came beforeYou won't find any peace
Not here, not on these streets
Misery loves company and there's enough to go aroundNo time to wonder why
No time for long goodbyes
Last chance for gettin' out
Is fading with the light'Cause I don't want to be around
When the night comes down

On the lonesome side of town
On the lonesome side of town
