The Magnificent Five Lyrics

Long ago in London town
A man called Ant sat deeply sighing
He was wondering
Which side of the fence he was onPrick up your ears, prick up your ears
Prick up your ears, prick up your earsTime went by and soon
The one was five young hombres burning fire
They were in no doubt
Which side of the fence they were on(Magnificent five)
Prick up your ears
(Magnificent five)
Prick up your ears(Magnificent five)
Prick up your ears
(Magnificent five)
Prick up your earsHe who writes in blood
Don't want to be read
He who writes in blood
Don't want to be readHe who writes in blood
Don't want to be read

He who writes in blood
Don't want to be readHe must be learned by heart
He must be learned by heart
He must be learned by heart
He must be learned by heartThey believed in sex and looking good
With their own brand of music
They weren't pandering
So which side of the fence are you on?(Magnificent five)
Prick up your ears
(Magnificent five)
Prick up your ears(Magnificent five)
Prick up your ears
(Magnificent five)
Prick up your earsHe who writes in blood
Don't want to be read
He who writes in blood
Don't want to be readHe who writes in blood
Don't want to be read
He who writes in blood
Don't want to be readHe must be learned by heart
(Magnificent five)
He must be learned by heart
(Magnificent five)He must be learned by heart
(Magnificent five)
He must be learned by heart
(Magnificent five)(Magnificent five)
Prick up your ears(Magnificent five)
Prick up your ears(Magnificent five)
Prick up your ears

Adam and the Ants were a new wave band during the late 1970s and early 1980s. It was one of the bands at the time that marked the transition from the '70s punk rock era to the new-wave post punk-music era. Although the band started off with a punk-influenced sound, it soon moved on to New Wave motivated by new sources such as the drum-heavy "Burundi Beat" heard on "Dog Eat Dog". Led by Adam Ant (real name Stuart Goddard), the band formed in 1977 in London, England, consisting of Lester Square (guitar), Andy Warren (bass guitar) and Paul Flanagan (drums).
