The Mess We're In Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
Can you hear them
The helicopters
I'm in New York
No need for words now
We sit in silence
You look meIn the eye directly
You met me
I think it's Wednesday
The evening
The mess we're in

And ohThe city sunset over me
The city sunset over meNight and day
I dream of
Making love
To you now baby
Love making
On screenImpossible dream
And I have seen
The sunrise over the river
The freeway reminding of
This mess we're in
And ohThe city sunset over me
The city sunset over meThe city sunset over me
The city sunset over meWhat was that you wanted?
I just wanna say
Don't ever change
I'd thank you
I don't think we will meet again
And you must leave now
Before the sun rises over the skyscrapers
And the city landscape comes into view
Sweat on my skin, oh
This mess we're in
And ohThe city sunset over me
The city sunset over me
The city sunset over me
The city sunset over me

Polly Jean Harvey, born October 9, 1969 in Yeovil, United Kingdom and raised in nearby Corscombe (Dorset), is an English singer-songwriter. She has recorded as a solo artist under the name PJ Harvey, but she began her career as part of a trio (with drummer Rob Ellis and bassist Steve Vaughan), also named PJ Harvey, in 1991. Early material released by the trio on Dry, 4 Track Demos and Rid of Me was praised by critics for its raw, guitar-driven sound and sharp-witted, melancholic lyrics.
