The New Boy Lyrics

She was only twenty-one
But so much older than she's now
Now she passed the twenty-four
I guess it's time to say goodbyeHere's the new, here's the real
Here's the life you like to live
Now here's the new boy
Taking on the world tonightWhen we met, she smelled like honey
When we kissed she tasted tears
Then for fourteen thousand seconds
We made love behind old fearsHere's the new, here's the real
Here's the life you wished you lived
Now here's the new boy
Taking on the world tonightTake the words on your way
I don't waste the things I say
When in doubt, fuck the world
Forget all the things you've heard
Now here's the new boy
Taking on the world tonight, noWhy so sad? Don't you like my way of life?

I don't last forever, neither do the things we love
You are wise, this is now this is all the things I want
Everything around us is moving except timeShe was only twenty-four
But so much younger than the past
We've laid all our troubles down
And now it's us against the restHere's the new, here's the real
Here's the life you like to live
Now here's the new boy
Taking on the world tonightTake the words on your way
I don't waste the things I say
When in doubt, fuck the world
Forget all the things you've heard
Now here's the new boy
Taking on the world tonight, no

Mando Diao are a rock band from Borlänge, Sweden. According to the band, the name Mando Diao has no meaning at all, but rather appeared to band member Björn Dixgård in a dream. Their sound is influenced by The Animals and Oasis. The roots of Mando Diao date back to 1995 when Björn Dixgård was a member of a band called Butler. Band members came and went; four years later, the remaining line-up chose to proceed more seriously in their musical efforts. Björn Dixgård and Gustaf Norén locked themselves up in a summer house and spent six months writing songs.
