The Old and the Young Lyrics

Time will have warranted all that the foliage brung
Falls to the ground at the feet of the old and the young
Tired and worn from a life made of wallow and pain
Of what will be made is all that remains at the coreBear the old and the young
Time will have warranted
All that the foliage brung
So bear the old and the youngAwoke from a long one that came on the heels of a day
Where sun would arise and then grant us the kindness of ray
Fields full of gladness surrounded by droves that await
And look for the grave in everything adornBear the old and the young
Time will have warranted
All that the foliage brung
So bear the old and the youngBear the old and the young
Time will have warranted
All that the foliage brung
Bear the old and the young
Time will have warranted
All that the foliage brung

So bear the old and the young

Midlake is an American rock band from Denton, Texas, that formed in 1999. The band first gained popularity in Europe. Midlake began in 1999 by a group of jazz students at the University of North Texas. The original lineup consisted of Tim Smith (vocals, guitars, keyboards), McKenzie Smith (drums), Paul Alexander (bass), Eric Nichelson (guitar), and Evan Jacobs (keyboards). Their initial work (under the working name The Cornbread All-Stars) consisted of funk/jazz explorations heavily influenced by Herbie Hancock.
