The Omen (Live in Saalfeld, 21. December 2012) Lyrics

The time has come for you
Why don't you see the omen
Open your eyes and cast their lies aside
Your craven kings are headed nowhere
Your blinded leaders, they're headed nowhere
You're headed nowhereI know they tell you to believe their truth
But I will never stand this pain
I know they say not to worry anymore
But I just cannot look away
The truth is plainClosing your eyes is nothing but surrenderHow can you ask me
If we can save this world
For them died so many years ago
Get on your knees and greet the omenHow often did they prove your ignorance to you
How many times did they betray
They truth is plain, this truth is plainSelling the hard-won values we achieved
You know that nothing will ever break the beast
You know there are millions left for dead
But no one broadcasts their criesAnd now you dare to ask me

If we can save this world
For them died so many years ago
Get on your knees and greet the omenClosing your eyes is nothing but surrender
A rotten act of treasonPlease never ask me
If we can save this world
For them died so many years ago
Get on your knees and greet the omen

Heaven Shall Burn was formed in autumn 1996, under the name 'Consense'. With the recording of their second demo in early 1997 the band changed their name to 'Heaven Shall Burn'. The name is taken from a Marduk album titled "Heaven Shall Burn... When We Are Gathered". In an interview with the band at decoymusic.com, the band said: "It’s not that we’re huge Marduk fans, but we liked the name. It sounds a bit provoking and so people ask us again and again for the meaning behind our name. It has been like that since the very beginning.
